Welcome to my first book review!

This book is called The Great Chocoplot by Chris Callaghan.

It is a children’s fiction  book.  It doesn’t have many pictures, so it is aimed at older children who can read longer books.

The Great Chocoplot is about a girl named Jelly and the end of all the chocolate in the world!  Dun, dun, duuuun!  The Chocopocolypse is only days away, the cacao bean trees are dying off and there will be no more chocolate!  Jelly meets Garibaldi Chocolati, a very posh person, selling very posh chocolate – that tastes HORRIBLE!! Jelly even finds some small white creatures in Garibalidi’s chocolate shop.  Jelly and her Gran do a science experiment to see whether the chocopocalypse is real or fake, but end up discovering much more than that!

I think the book is VERY FUNNY!  (It made Mummy laugh lots too!)  These are some of our favorite parts;

‘Occasionally, Jelly spotted a hand or a bum cheek appearing briefly around the ball pit.  Then a foot with a furry slipper shot through the gap, almost kicking Jelly in the face.’

‘He jumped up and down like a crazed monkey on a trampoline.  Jelly, Gran and her Mum gripped each other and held on to their napkins – Jelly imagined the whole roof collapsing, taking them crashing through the roof and into the kitchen sink. “I think it’s safe,” said Dad, when no crack appeared.  Mum slapped his shoulder, “You flaming idiot!  Don’t do that again!”‘

I am glad it is a fiction book, as I LOVE chocolate!
